Rev. Dwayne Hysmith Sr. is a native of Jacksonville, Florida and is the only son of Jessie Mae and Richard Hysmith. He has been married to Tenner Hysmith for more than 33 years. They have two children Erica (Jonathan Sr.) and Dwayne Jr. (Elizabeth), and grandsons Jonathan Jr. and Jaden. He proudly served more than 22 years in the US Army prior to retiring as First Sergeant in 2007.
 

He is the recipient of a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, and a Master’s Degree in Divinity graduating with honors from the International Theological Center, Atlanta, GA.
 

Rev. Hysmith is the Senior JROTC instructor at Townview Magnet Center in Dallas, TX, where he enjoys the opportunities to encourage, challenge and influence our future leaders.
 

Rev. Hysmith accepted his calling in 2009 and was ordained an Itinerant Elder in 2015 by Bishop Vashti McKenzie. He currently serves on the 10 th District Board of Trustees, the North Texas Conference Board of Examiners, and Co-Chair of Tenth Future Inc.
 

His passion is to break down the walls of the places we worship and take the church to the street meeting people where they are.
